Proskauer Rose: Planting with Precision in London’s Newest Tower

8 Bishopsgate is one of the newest landmarks in a rapidly developing City of London. A hub of activity and a beacon of sustainable growth, the building embodies opportunity and possibility. The chance to build anew.

Into this dynamic environment came Proskauer’s new headquarters. Their vision was ambitious yet precise: integrated planting that blended seamlessly with the office design, creating moments of prospect and refuge while delivering an inspiring, biophilic workplace.

The brief: Office planting that blends into the architecture

From the outset, the requirement was clear: a scheme that respected the clean architectural lines of the fit out, while elevating them with greenery. Plants needed to be more than decorative, they had to form part of the design language itself.

The building demanded no less. Entranceways opened into elegant breakout space with world class views of the city. Stunning translucent stairways balance of art-deco, post-modern, and modern styles in a blend that escapes precise definition.  To place planting in such a context required sensitivity, precision, and a design approach in tune with the client’s highest expectations.

Even the outdoor areas had to mirror the quality of the panoramic views they offered: planting that did not distract, but instead complemented, enhanced, and framed the architecture.

The design: Integrated biophilia

Plants on desks acted as natural dividers, softening workstations and improving air quality. Bespoke wooden planters introduced warmth and texture to breakout spaces, while architectural statement plants provided structure and height, their natural forms echoing the building’s vertical design.

Every detail; from planter finishes to plant species, was chosen to complement the wider interior, making plants for offices feel like an essential part of the workplace, not an afterthought.

The challenge: Moving through a changing environment

Installing workplace greenery in one of London’s newest skyscrapers presented unique challenges. Bustling trades, deliveries, and removals dictated an ultraprecise delivery schedule. Delivering a seamless planting scheme here would be no easy feat…

With so many moving parts (quite literally) coordination with other trades and careful timing were essential. Every plant and planter had to arrive exactly when needed, slotting into the programme without disruption and keeping the project moving forward.

Through a constantly reviewed process, we delivered with exact precision. What could have been a logistical obstacle became, with careful planning and clear communication, a smooth and efficient installation. Proof that even the most complex environments can host thriving office planting schemes.

Beyond installation: Maintenance to help plants thrive.

Our work did not end with installation. To ensure that the planting continued to thrive, we provided professional plant maintenance services; regular plant health checks, alongside watering and feeding schedules. We also delivered seasonal flower displays for reception, keeping the space dynamic and welcoming year-round

This ongoing care means Proskauer’s office planting scheme remains as vibrant today as it was on installation day - a living, evolving addition to the workspace.

Conclusion: Inspiring biophilic design in the workplace

At Proskauer Capital’s headquarters in 8 Bishopsgate, office planting does more than decorate. It creates a healthier, more inspiring workplace through the principles of biophilic design, weaving nature into the very fabric of the office.

By combining thoughtful design, seamless installation, and ongoing plant maintenance, we delivered a workplace planting scheme that reflects both the prestige of its setting and the wellbeing needs of its people.

Integrated planting can transform even the most modern office environments, turning bold architectural spaces into vibrant, living workplaces.
