SharkNinja

SharkNinja’s new office at Battersea Power Station integrates immersive biophilic design, featuring lush ceiling planting and greenery-filled spaces that enhance both work and client-facing environments.

Client overview

SharkNinja, a global leader in innovative home technology, recently moved into a stunning new office at 50 Electric Boulevard, Battersea Power Station. The space reflects their forward-thinking ethos, prioritising employee and visitor experience through the integration of greenery and sustainable design.

The brief

SharkNinja’s brief was to create a workspace that felt immersive and dynamic, with greenery woven throughout every corner. Their previous office’s planting didn't match the company's forward-thinking image, prompting a desire for vibrant, statement planting that would leave a lasting impression on staff and visitors alike.

Challenges

The project presented several challenges, including:

A tight turnaround time, requiring close coordination with the main contractor.

Ensuring seamless integration with overhead services and maintaining access points for M&E maintenance.

Careful collaboration on the ceiling feature, balancing aesthetics with practicality.

What we did

We delivered an impressive biophilic transformation across both levels of the office. Key elements included:

Ceiling Raft Planting:

A 34 m² ceiling feature that winds through the workspace, following the path of a central light tube. We used sustainable replica planting to achieve a lush, low-maintenance canopy effect, creating an impactful overhead visual.

Floorstanding Planting:

Strategically placed feature trees, such as Heteropanax Chinensis and Ficus Lyrata Branched, added height and grandeur to key areas.

Floorstanding planters were carefully selected to offer varied textures, pops of colour, and a range of sizes. These planters were hand-finished to complement the design.

Integrated Joinery Planting:

Seamlessly incorporated cabinet top troughs filled with Dieffenbachia Senguine and Chamaedorea Elegans, enhancing workspaces with vibrant greenery.

Additional Features:

In the BBQ room, we introduced Cycas Revoluta in small planters and a striking Beaucarnea Recurvata in a tall planter.

The kitchen featured Rhipsalis, Hoya Carnosa Tricolor, and Scindapsus Aureum in smaller planters, adding colour and life to communal spaces.

External troughs with Prunus lusitanica and Hakonechloa macra provided a polished, greenery-filled outdoor aesthetic.

Outcome

The result was a workspace that feels immersive and alive, shrouded in greenery that offers both prospect and refuge. The ceiling planting became a striking focal point, while floorstanding and integrated planters created a seamless connection to nature. The thoughtful design exceeded expectations, fostering a welcoming and productive environment that enhances the experience for both staff and visitors.
