Working in close collaboration with the design team, Plant Plan developed a biophilic design scheme that delivers impact at every scale. From the sweeping green statement of the central atrium to the intimate breakout areas framed by lush, living planting, the space evokes both energy and calm. The Brief: Creating a flagship biophilic workplace for CareCo

CareCo set out to create more than just a new headquarters. They wanted a flagship office planting scheme that would mirror their ethos of care, comfort, and connection. The goal was to craft a workspace that felt calm, restorative, and human, providing the same sense of wellbeing that CareCo offers to its clients every day.

Beyond tranquillity, the company also wanted to make a statement. The design needed to reflect their industry-leading position within the mobility and care sector, creating a bold biophilic workspace that celebrated innovation as much as compassion.

This balance between care and confidence formed the foundation of the project and inspired a biophilic design approach that seamlessly integrated planting into every level of the space.

The design: Biophilia at every scale

The success of this scheme lay in its attention to detail at every level. From the sweeping impact of large statement trees to the quiet precision of on-desk planting, each element was designed to enrich the experience of the space.

Biophilic design was tailored to suit each area. Larger, open spaces featured bold, structural plants that added height and form, while communal areas were filled with lush green foliage and hanging planting to create immersive, calming environments.

With this macro and micro approach, the aim was to create a layered biophilic design that offered both visual interest and a sense of calm. The greenery softened architectural lines, improved acoustics, and fostered a welcoming atmosphere that reflects CareCo’s brand of care and innovation.

Plant species were selected for their resilience and compatibility with interior conditions, ensuring long-term health and harmony throughout the workspace. The result is a living design that feels cohesive and natural, connecting people to nature and to one another.

The install: Seamless installation of a stunning biophilic office scheme

The installation process for CareCo’s headquarters was smooth and efficient. Thanks to the open nature of the space and the considered layout of the fit-out, our team was able to complete the planting with minimal disruption.

Unlike some of our recent installations in tight or high-traffic city sites, this project allowed for a more streamlined approach. Large planters, integrated furniture, and statement trees were positioned precisely according to the design plan, ensuring that every element enhanced both the aesthetic and functional qualities of the workspace.

Attention to detail remained key throughout the process. We wanted to be certain that care was taken at every level and scale, from the positioning of the statement trees, to the makeup of the on-desk planting, we wanted everything to be perfect.

The result: A living reflection of CareCo’s values 

The completed scheme embodies CareCo’s commitment to care, innovation, and wellbeing. Every space, from the bright central atrium to the quieter breakout zones, has been uplifted through carefully considered greenery that supports focus, collaboration, and calm.
